About Freire Figs
Our History
Freire Figs was founded in 2020 by my wife & I. How did we get into figs? It all started with 1 fig tree. I grew up in São Miguel, Azores, where figs were simply a part of everyday life. Nearly every home seemed to have at least one fig tree, so figs were not new to me. What was new was discovering how uncommon they were here in the United States. Years later a family member gave us a fig tree, that tree sparked our curiosity. We started to research everything we could about figs, the trees, their care & about the many different varieties were available around the world and that started our collection. Since then, we have grown to serve beginners, enthusiasts & collectors all over the country. We are proud of our roots and remain committed to providing high-quality products and services to our customers.
Our Figs
We have just under 200 different varieties of fig trees from all over the world. We have learned over the years the best fruit is the fruit you grow yourself and unless you grow your own fig tree most will never know the absolute delight of a fresh fig.
Our Goals
At Freire Figs we want to share our love of figs through our trees, fruit & knowledge.
Fig trees make great gifts. We can ship almost anywhere in the lower 48 (no shipping to CA)
We have sold our trees on Figbid, through our first partnership with Lee's/Clements Markets & soon through our own store (under construction) here on this site!

That’s why we personally care for each fig tree from the moment it begins to grow until the moment it’s ready to ship. Every tree we send out has been nurtured, inspected, and prepared by our hands only, ensuring it arrives healthy, strong, and ready to thrive in its new home.
